Who are we? We are Arizona Apex Investigative Solutions, LLC (A.A.I.S.), a licensed and bonded private investigative solutions agency (License # 1770725). We provide private investigator services to Phoenix, Goodyear and the West Valley in Arizona. Arizona Private investigator services are provided to individuals, businesses and attorneys.
Who are we? We are a disabled veteran owned and operated small business. We are experienced, dedicated, results driven and tenacious ensuring all investigations are thorough and complete ensuring our customers have what they need to make informed value-added decisions.
Our Company Values
Our company values, our ethos, is derived from many years in both the military and in corporate investigations seeing the best and worst in people. In both we’ve learned what NOT to do, what works best, and what guides us. Our core values are very important to us and include honesty, integrity, professionalism, collaboration, dedication, customer satisfaction and a deep curiosity in everything. Curiosity may be the last on that list, but without it we wouldn’t be a good private investigator. Curiosity is what drives us to “Finding the Hidden Truth.”.

About the Owner
The owner of A.A.I.S is Tim Norton. Tim is an Arizona state licensed and bonded private investigator (License # 1770726). He is a service-connected disabled veteran of the United States Air Force. His background is very broad and extensive which has helped him to develop and hone his investigative skills.
Investigations Career
Tim’s career is quite extensive and includes database architect and engineer, web engineer and finance manager for over 25 years. In addition, he has over 15 years of corporate investigations, digital forensic investigations, corporate security, asset protection, loss prevention, fraud investigations, background checks, criminal history records checks, social media checks, fugitive recovery and executive protection detail experience. Just to name a few.
He has investigated crimes related to child exploitation, drug cartel, organized crime, corporate fraud, missing persons, corporate espionage, proprietary information leaks, burglary, robbery and more. Therefore, there isn’t much he can’t do or find.
Over the years he has worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Secret Service, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and other federal and state law enforcement agencies on small and extremely large cases.
The largest case Tim worked on was a nationwide fraud ring using inside and outside sources and credit mules with a total fraud loss of over $250 million. He is trained and certified in OSINT methodologies under Michael Bazzle and the FBI, and Wicklander-Zulawski interview and interrogation techniques, Humintell methodologies, and a proud member of the International OSMOSIS Association. Additionally, he is a proud member of the Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). SDVOSB is a certification granted by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the US Department of Defense (DoD) for veterans with service-connected disabilities.
Military Career
Tim’s military career started in 1987 and ended in 1996 after he was medically discharged for a back injury sustained while pulling a high-G maneuver (9 G’s = 9 times the pull of earth’s gravity) in an F-16 fighter jet. His injury resulted in 5 months inpatient in the base hospital forced to undergo physical therapy without even knowing the extent of the injury. Not until an MRI was done did they realize the extent of the injury. He was medically evacuated to Wilford Hospital in TX in May of 1993. There an emergency surgery was performed to remove the fragments of his disk at L5-S1 that had exploded, but nothing was done about the disk at L4-L5.
Since the surgery was not a success, he was cross trained out of the career he loved and into Training Management. Tim was finally medically discharged in October 1996 because he was no longer mobility or combat qualified due to his back injury.
Tim was discharged with only a 20% disability rating. And it stayed that way for 27 years. It only changed in 2023 because he found a group that specifically helps veterans get their disability rating increased. Why did he create this private investigation agency?
Tim was tired of seeing sloppy, inaccurate and incomplete investigation reports coming from other investigative agencies and private investigators. He saw that their only motivation was money, and not to actually help people. And Tim has a passion for helping people whenever possible. And while doing corporate investigations as a private investigator he saw countless times where the corporation and their attorneys would ignore the crimes because it would hit their Fraud Loss P&L line items, which made the fraud department look bad, or they were afraid of offending somebody. He also saw many executives commit crimes and there was nothing done about it. Big corporations only care about money, not their customers, employees, or how much money they lose to fraud. They can always write it off and still say they are profitable.
By creating his own private investigation agency and obtaining his private investigator license, he can now take his passion for helping to the next level and focus on the customer. Where all companies should have their focus, the customer. Because without customers, you don’t have a viable business.
