Phone Scam Alert for Maricopa County Arizona
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) released a notice today (5/4/2023) regarding a new phone scam alert that has been reported in Maricopa County Arizona. The scammers are threatening to have residents arrested if they do not pay. The scammers are posing as Maricopa County Sheriff deputies and demanding large sums of money claiming that the individual owes large sums of money for parking tickets, failure to appear claims (Outstanding warrant, missed court, unpaid parking tickets etc.). Several Maricopa residents have been reporting that scammers are calling them and demanding large sums of money.

Maricopa residents have reported that scammers are calling them and demanding large sums of money. The scammers are threatening to have residents arrested if they do not pay.
REMINDER: The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office will never request money over the phone.

Protect yourself. Never answer calls from unidentified, unknow or blocked numbers. If available, use your cell phone carriers service called “scam block” to block scam calls. It will not completely eliminate scam and fraud calls because the fraudsters use virtual services to create and call from fake phone numbers. So, still be mindful of which calls you answer. Remember, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office will never call you demanding money. If it sounds like a scam, it probably is.
